Can I install Ubuntu 18.04 on my Linux VPS?

As of June 2019, we have rolled our new OpenVZ7 platform for new orders. This platform supports Ubuntu 18.04 without any issues. This knowledgebase article remains for prosperity.

On legacy OpenVZ6 platform, there is unfortunately no way to use Ubuntu 18.04. We are planning a mass migration from legacy platform to the new platform before October 2019.

In the meantime, if you'd like to use Ubuntu 18.04, then please open a ticket with us to get your VPS migrated to the new platform manually.

Please note that your VPS will have to be taken down during the migration. The migration will take a few minutes depending on the storage you use on your VPS.

We collect requests for migrations and do these every 24 hours and unfortunately we are not able to tell you at what date and time your VPS will be migrated to the new platform once it's in the queue.
