What is Premium VPS in a nut-shell?
Premium VPS are partitions of a host node, where all resources are fully dedicated to your server. It is as close to a dedicated server as possible. You would interface with your Premium VPS in the same way as a physical server.
What virtualization technology do you use?
Our Premium VPS line uses KVM virtualization. Integrated directly into the Linux kernel, KVM provides full virtualization with exceptional performance, and is as close to a physical server as possible.
How long does the VPS provisioning take?
If it's your first order with us, then there is going to be a 10-15 minute delay while we manually screen your order. Once your server is provisioned, OS installation takes 10-15 minutes after that.
What are the advantages of using KVM virtualization?
KVM is included and maintained in the Linux mainline kernel, meaning it has extensive support and performance optimizations that ensure it runs well and will be supported for a very long time. It is "full stack" in that it virtualizes all devices for your VPS.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my Premium VPS easily?
Premium VPS can be upgraded at any time with a few minutes of downtime involved. We can schedule this downtime for any time of day that meets your business needs. Premium VPS cannot be downgraded.
Are the resources dedicated to my VPS?
Yes, CPU, memory, and disk are fully assigned and dedicated to your Premium VPS. The only resource shared is the host node uplink, but our host nodes are monitored to ensure that you get significant uplink speeds at all times.
How is Premium VPS so cheap?
We've built a highly-automated, high performance infrastructure that allows us to provide great services at a great price without any stoppages due to system issues. Because of the performance of our system, we can spend our time assisting our customers, meaning that we do not need to hire additional people to manually work system issues.
Which Linux distros can I use with my VPS?
You could use Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, Fedora, SUSE, SLES with your Premium VPS.
Can I reinstall my VPS's operating system?
Of course, you could reinstall your Linux distro on your client area with a few simple clicks. It will only take a few minutes before your VPS is ready for you again.
What kind of technical support do you provide?
Our service is self-managed. This means that our customers are responsible for managing their own VPS's. However, it doesn't mean that you are left alone. Our technicians are always available to reply your questions within minutes and help you in a best effort basis. We are not going to manage everything for you but we are going to help you resolve your issues and will always point you to the right direction.
Do you backup my VPS?
Yes, a snapshot is taken of your VPS every night and stored for three days. Please note that our backup process can only restore the entire server image, and in any case you'll still want to build and set up a backup scheme that meets your budget and requirements, that you control.
Is my VPS DDoS protected?
Our network is able to handle small to medium attacks and for larger attacks, we have automated null-routing system. We recommend using Cloudflare for your website for DDoS protection.
What are the differences between Premium VPS and Linux VPS?
Linux VPS's are great for almost any use case, however if you are looking to use your own kernel or ability to utilize all of the CPU resources at all times without any interruption, then Premium VPS is recommended. Premium VPS are great for production workloads, and furthermore, Premium VPS allow you to run your own kernel if desired.
Can I run Docker on Premium VPS?
Yes, as Premium VPS is full virtualization, it can run Docker without issue. Additionally, you can run container orchestrations like Kubernetes, if desired. Operating systems for the purposes of Docker like RancherOS are available on Premium VPS.
Do you support NFS, FUSE, TUN/TAP, GRE?
Yes, Premium VPS is full virtualization, and can run anything that a physical server can run. There is no need to reach out to our team to enable these functions: you get full root access to your server and can set them up as desired.
Do you offer IPv6?
IPv6 is offered in multiple locations for our Premium VPS line. Please contact us to inquire more about this.
