Guides and answers for your VPS, the client area, and billing

I can't sign in

What this is

A quick map of the usual reasons sign-in fails, with the fastest fix for each. Find your situation below. Sign in at https://vpsdime.com/clientarea.

Find your situation

  • Wrong email or password. Reset it with the Forgot password? link on the sign-in page (see Reset a forgotten password). If you originally used Google/GitHub and never set a password, sign in that way instead, or set one from Sign-in Methods. More: Signing in.
  • My password works but I'm stuck on the code screen.
  • My account email runs on my own VPS, and that VPS is suspended or down. The login code can't reach you because the mail server it's sent to is offline, often because the VPS was suspended over the very invoice you're trying to pay. Contact us from any email you have access to, tell us your account email, and confirm a VPS IP, an invoice number, or your account address; we'll verify you and temporarily lift the email code so you can sign in. The full steps are in Email login codes.
  • I lost my phone / authenticator app. Sign in with a backup code, then reset your method.
  • I lost my phone and my backup code. You'll need us to verify you and restore access, so open a ticket below.
  • Sign in with Google/GitHub isn't working. See Sign in with Google or GitHub (verify your provider email, click the Confirm button on the confirmation page).
  • The "verify you're human" check is blocking me. It appears after repeated attempts. Complete it, or try another browser / turn off a VPN or ad-blocker, then retry.
  • Your account has been closed. When you sign in with the correct details (or via Google/GitHub), you'll see an "Account Closed" message; password reset won't work for a closed account either. See Account closed for why this happens and how to ask us to review it.
  • "IP banned", or the site refuses to load with an IP-blocked notice. Your IP address has been blocked by our security systems, usually after repeated failed login attempts or activity that looked suspicious from that address. Two things to know: the block is on the IP, not your account (the site works fine from another connection), and it can't be removed from your side. Switch to a different network, a phone on mobile data is the quickest, then contact us from there (or reply to any email you've received from us) with the banned IP, and our team will review and unblock it. (Blocked from your own VPS rather than from our website? That's a different system, see My IP is blocked from my server.)

Still need help?

If none of the above gets you in, open a support ticket and we'll help you get back into your account.

We help a lot of customers, so a few specifics get you a faster, first-reply answer. Please include whatever applies:

  • the email address on your account,
  • if that email itself is unreachable, contact us from one you can use, and confirm a VPS IP, an invoice number, or your account address so we can verify you,
  • what you've already tried and where it stops (password screen, code screen, the provider page),
  • the exact message you see, with a screenshot if you can,
  • for lost-device cases, whether you still have a backup code.

We'll never ask for your password in a ticket.

  • "I'm locked out of my account."
  • "I lost my phone and can't get my 2FA code."
  • "I lost my authenticator and my backup code."
  • "Help, I can't log in at all."
  • "My email is hosted on my suspended VPS and I can't get the login code."
  • "It says my IP is banned when I try to open the client area."
  • "Your website won't load for me but works for everyone else."
