Guides for backing up your VPS and getting your data back when you need it.

Getting started#

• Nightly Backups overview. What it is, who has it (Linux VPS add-on vs Premium VPS included), the once-a-night schedule, and 3-day retention.
• Turn on Nightly Backups. Add the $5/month add-on from the Extra Features tab, confirm it's active, and remove it.

Your backups#

• Viewing your backups. Find your backups, read the list, and understand the Full and Incremental labels.

Restoring and recovering#

• Restore your VPS from a backup. The full restore: shut down first, Complete vs Undo, and the 7-day deadline.
• Recover individual files. Browse a backup to download specific files or copy them back to your VPS.
• Download a full disk image. Get a complete copy of your VPS to keep, mount, or migrate.
